Gobernación del Tucumán mapa
Pierre Duval
Tucuman, a small (13 × 10 cm) copperplate-engraved map by the French cartographer Pierre Du Val, dated 1682. It was published in Paris by Du Val and Nicolas Langlois as part of a multi-volume world geography atlas, and depicts the Governorate of Tucumán in present-day northern Argentina. It shows the Andes ("les Andes"), rivers, the Tropic of Capricorn, and Spanish settlements such as San Miguel de Tucumán, as well as a "Pays de Trapaland" that reflects the mix of real and speculative geography typical of the period.
